01/04/2024 – Christ Must Reign and Rule in your Life

Eddy De La Hoz   -

Revelation 19: 11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

The kingship of Christ is not in title only. He also governs those over whom He is king. There are kingdoms on this earth where kings and queens reign but do not govern. They are paraded around with great pomp and ceremony. Their people build them castles and honor them in many ways. They even sing to them. But they are not given the power to rule. The queen of England, for example, has reigned longer than any monarch in that country; but she has not ruled over anyone for even a day of her reign.

Many Christians proclaim Christ as king, yet they have no desire for Christ to govern their lives. They want to live their lives their way. It is tragic that in many congregations Christ is honored as king, but they are governed by rules and ideas that did not originate in Christ.

One of the best things that can happen to us is to have Christ rule over our lives with an iron rod. To have Christ govern our thoughts, our actions, so that the sinful desires of our flesh do not lead us to evil. When we obey God’s word revealed in the Bible and when we are guided by the Spirit of God rather than the desires of our flesh, Christ will lead us to victory, and we will overcome the world. We will be more than conquerors because of His rule in our lives.
