Special Thanksgiving Message
“We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father, knowing, brethren beloved, of your election by God.”
1 Thessalonians 1:2-4
Today, most families in the United States will gather in a celebration of thanksgiving. Given all the wonderful blessings we enjoy in this country, it is most appropriate that we dedicate a special time to thanking God, not just once a year, but daily.
Today we give thanks to our God. He has sustained us as His church through some of the most challenging times the world has ever experienced. Our God has provided everything we need individually and collectively. We enjoy the fullness of His grace in our salvation and daily provision.
We particularly thank God for each of you, the people of God. I have learned that the greatest blessings we receive are not things, but people. Above all, our greatest blessing is the person of Jesus Christ. Everyone who is in Christ is also an amazing blessing. You bless us with the fruit of the Holy Spirit that is produced in you. You also bless us with the gifts the Holy Spirit has bestowed upon you. Above all, you are a blessing to all because of who you are in Christ. You are the light of the world. You are the salt of the earth.
Let’s give thanks to God together for God’s blessings and for one another on this day and every day.
