02/07/2024 – The Amazing Power of God’s Grace – Part 1

Eddy De La Hoz   -

Genesis 6: 5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7 So the LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. 9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. 10 And Noah begot three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. 11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.13 And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. 14 Make yourself an ark of gopherwood; make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and outside with pitch.

In the days of Noah, the earth was filled with violence. Such is the nature of sin. From a seemingly harmless act of disobedience, it grew and multiplied until it brought destruction to humankind. Never underestimate the consequences of sin. They go far beyond the immediate outcome. Every sin will lead to a greater sin. It will invade every area of your life, every person, every institution.

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. The grace of God is His choosing to bless and show favor rather than curse as our sin deserves.

The only element that can overcome sin is the grace of God. Romans 5: 20 tells us that where sin abounded, grace abounded much more. The glory of God is manifested in a multitude of ways, but none is more glorious than His grace.

Sin will try to compete with the glory of God in your life. It will try to fill your mind, your time, your heart, strain every relationship, every good purpose of God for you- your marriage, your family. But no matter how much sin advances, it can never keep up, it can never outgrow, outshine, outpower the grace of God!
