05/30/2023 – Alone time with God

James Vazquez   -

Alone time with God – Are you cultivating a habit of “alone time with God”? A time set aside where it’s just you and God, a time where you can talk with Him without any inhibitions, a time where you know you’re enjoying each other’s company. That special time where God is present and listening to your every word. There is nothing that comes close to having an “Alone time with God”, these are the times God answers prayer, God provides direction, God conveys a message. I could go on, but I think you get my drift. Truth be told that good habits in our lives are few, but “Alone time with God” is certainly one that is worth cultivating.

Psalms 16:5-9

5 The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You support my lot. 6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me. 7 I will bless the Lord who has counseled me; Indeed, my (h)mind instructs me in the night. 8 I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely.

Bible scholars say that the meaning of these verses is that David found the secret of contentment and great gladness even in pressing times. The secret being was that David had his “Alone time with God”, as a result David penned some of the most heart moving poetry ever. Can I be so bold and encourage you to get into the habit, that is the habit of “Alone time with God”.

Today meditate of this scripture:  Psalms 16:2 “I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
    apart from you I have no good thing.”
