10/12/2026 – Moving Toward God’s Comfort
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Reflection: One of the strongest indicators of our spiritual health is where we feel comfortable. Children feel comfortable in their parent’s house. My hope is that you look forward to being in the house of your heavenly Father and that you feel comfort in His presence. I also hope you feel uncomfortable around injustice and unrighteousness. God’s desire is that we never feel too comfortable with the world. I hope you are not completely satisfied with the current condition. Instead, we need to keep fighting and moving forward, extending to the goal He has set for us!
It is not an easy journey. One of the most difficult roads you will travel in this life is the road between your comfort zone and God’s comfort zone. It is difficult to move when you are comfortable. Why risk losing what gives you comfort now for the promise of better comfort?
God’s comfort is much better than our comfort. God’s comfort is perfect! God will not rest until everything is right and everyone is good! He rested only after He created everything and He examined it and determined that it was good. God will not rest until His work of salvation is complete and until everything that is evil is destroyed.
