09/24/2026 – Do You Not Know that You Are the Temple?
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6: 18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
Reflection: Whatever your goals are today, and regardless of people’s expectations of you, God’s stated purpose for your life is the highest calling possible for a human being. Your purpose in life is to glorify God.
How can we glorify God? He is already the sole possessor of all glory and honor. Yet, we can magnify His glory. Glorifying is much more than appeasing. It is proclaiming and honoring His glory with worship. We glorify God when we sacrifice everything else to honor Him. We glorify God when we demonstrate His attributes in such a way that others can identify the works of God in us.
We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah! Could there be a greater privilege in this world? We must glorify God by treasuring His presence in our lives. Treasure is a noun and a verb. We are to treasure the presence of God within us above all precious gifts. We must value our God above all other things.
