06/09/2026 – Christ Has Overcome the World

Scripture: John 16: 31 Jesus answered them, “Do you now believe? 32 Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Reflection: Our Lord Jesus leads by example. He showed us what victory is and how it can be achieved. It is amazing that our Lord Jesus declared victory before He went to the cross. Before being raised from the dead, the Lord proclaimed: I have overcome the world! He did not say I will overcome…much less “I may overcome”. His victory was accomplished already. He went to the cross with complete confidence that victory was already won.

Victory starts before tribulation. It precedes it. Victory starts with preparing for battle. On a blue-sky day you must prepare your house for the storm that is sure to come. Long before you face the enemy on a battlefield, you must train, you must obtain the weapons of victory and learn to use them. Long before David faced Goliath, he learned to use the sling with such precision that he would always hit the mark.

When you establish the truth of your life, you have defeated all the lies of the devil. There are many lies, but only one truth. It does not matter how many ways the devil tries to twist the truth. Lies can be loud and powerful; but they can never defeat the truth. If you know the truth, you have already conquered all lies.
