03/11/2026 – Christ Will Seek the Lost Sheep
Scripture: Matthew 18: 12 “What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? 13 And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray. 14 Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.
Reflection: The amount of attention tends to diminish in a large family. When you are an only child, you get all the attention. But the Lord has many children. However, His attention is equally provided to each of us, and He is particularly focused on the little ones. Christ wanted His disciples to know about His interest in the little ones. We tend to ignore those who have little. Not so our God. He is committed to salvation for everyone of His sheep.
Each of us has at some point turned to our own way. We each have our own ideas and desires, our own goals. Our own way seems right to us.
One of the most powerful blessings God provides to save you from yourself is other sheep. You cannot do it alone. First, you need to remain in communion with God through Christ. And you also need to be in communion with your godly family.
Going astray means separating from the fold. There is a blessing that is unique to sheep being together in harmony. Blessings are never to be enjoyed in isolation. There is only one way, and we walk it together all the way to eternity.
