05/05/2025 – Commit Yourself to God

Eddy De La Hoz   -

Scripture: 1 Peter 2: 23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Reflection: Christ committed His spirit to the Father- He let the Father examine His intention, His thoughts, His heart. God will ultimately judge Him. Christ demonstrated who He is. The Father justified Christ and poured out His power to raise Him from the dead! God turned what seemed to be the greatest victory of evil into the greatest victory of good! God not only justified Christ, but He justified all who believe in Christ! We were raised with Him, and we now live eternally in Him!

It has been said that the true test of human character is the use of power. The only way we can truly know what is in the heart is how a person uses power. Christ did not rely on rank. The apostle Paul followed in His example. He considered his earthly achievements and position as garbage compared to the excellence of Christ. What you do with the power God gives you…how you treat those who are under that power demonstrates who you are. All power belongs to God.
