01/16/2025 – God will do Something
1 Samuel 3: 10 Now the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant hears.” 11 Then the Lord said to Samuel: “Behold, I will do something in Israel at which both ears of everyone who hears it will tingle.
Samuel was probably expecting an assignment when he heard God’s voice; but God did not ask Samuel to do something. Instead, God gave Samuel a revelation: I will do something!
Israel had gone through the most chaotic period in its history. As bad as four hundred years of slavery in Egypt had been, there was an even more turbulent period- three centuries of anarchy. This was the period in which there was no king in Israel and everyone did what seemed right in their eyes. Even the priests were serving themselves instead of serving God and the people. They had no one else to blame.
What do you do with the freedom God has given you? He has set us free! Now it is up to us to do what is right in the eyes of God!
When something is wrong with His people, God will correct it. When something is wrong in the world, God will correct it. God will do something!
God’s call is a declaration of what He is going to do. He called you, not to ask you what you are going to do, but to tell you what He is going to do. Samuel was just a child. Moses was an old man. Gideon was acting cowardly. God was not calling them because there was any power in any of them to change anything. Obey God and He will do it!
