06/21/2024 – God will Rule Over You!
Ezekiel 20: 33 “As I live,” says the Lord God, “surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will rule over you. 34 I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out. 35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will plead My case with you face to face.
The power of God is manifested through His tenacity in salvation! Time and again, God proclaims, “I will!” The people disobeyed and neglected the law of God. Thank God that our salvation does not depend on what we do but in what God will do. Our trust in the actions God has promised to perform are the key to our future.
God has a plan to save His people despite our rebellion. He has the love and the power and the wisdom to conquer the hearts of His people. He proclaims, “I will rule over you!” “I will make you pass under my rod! I will bring you into my covenant!”
God is not indifferent regarding His relationship with His people. He is not indifferent to you. He tells His people through Ezekiel: with fury poured out I will rule over you! No enemy can destroy us as long as God rules over us!
When the people of God in the Old Covenant turned to idols and forsook His law, God did not take a passive attitude. That would be the worst punishment a person could receive- indifference from God. All God must do is leave us to ourselves. But He will not do that with His people- He will intervene with fury to save us from ourselves!
