03/25/2024 – The Three Greatest Divine Virtues
1 Corinthians 13: 8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
We are extremely vulnerable and limited in our human nature. But in our spirit, God has given us virtues that are indestructible and invincible because they manifest the power of God. They are precious virtues whose worth only increases in adversity. We must apply these virtues to our lives to obtain victory. This is how we overcome!
There are three that stand above all the others: faith, hope and love. These virtues are indestructible. The Bible says that these three remain even when so many other things, even good things, come to an end. One of the qualities that makes gold precious is that it is virtually indestructible. You can put it in the fire, and it will be refined.
If we were to list our needs, the number would be exceedingly great. But our essential needs in this life are only three: faith, hope and love. God has made these virtues available to you. Our greatest qualities are not our talents or abilities, not our resources or status. Our greatest attributes are the divine virtues God bestows on His children. God has provided you with many godly virtues. They are all wonderful blessings; but there are three that stand above all the others: faith, hope and love.
