03/20/2024 – God’s Time of Fulfilment
2 Samuel 5: Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and spoke, saying, “Indeed we are your bone and your flesh. 2 Also, in time past, when Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and brought them in; and the Lord said to you, ‘You shall shepherd My people Israel, and be ruler over Israel.’ ” 3 Therefore all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord. And they anointed David king over Israel. 4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. 5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.
Trust in the fulfillment of God. The glory of God is always manifested. It is everywhere. But nowhere is it more awesome, more precious than in God’s time fulfillment. There is a time of waiting, a time of suffering and hard work, a time of investment. But it all leads to a time of fulfillment of the promises and the purpose of God. Trust God that His time of fulfillment will come and it is approaching! Everyone else may fail… God will accomplish His promise!
Redeem the time until the promise. Preparation may take a long time; but fulfillment is forever. David was very young when he was anointed king. He was probably 15 years old… It was not until his 30th birthday that God fulfilled his calling. David had to suffer and hide…he was persecuted and maligned. But David waited for God! But David redeemed that time. He turned grief into prayer…weeping into song and praise. He fought and endured.
Suddenly it all came together- all the pieces fell into place. There is nothing more powerful and sure than a promise of God whose time has come! Saul was killed, and all the tribes came to David. He did not need to run for king. He did not need to organize a political campaign. They came to him.
What David had done while waiting prepared him and prepared the people and conditions for this moment. What you do where you are now will prepare you and prepare the people who will participate in God’s fulfillment in your life. They said to David: you were faithful when the enemy was strong, when it was not easy…you were doing what the Lord asked you BEFORE you had the honor of a position.
