08/17/2023 -We Will Reign with Christ
2 Timothy 2: 11 “Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him; 12 if we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us; 13 if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself”
The statement I consider most amazing in this passage is this: the promise that we will reign with Christ. God not only wants to reign. He wants us to reign with Him. He wants us to be part of His kingdom. His salvation does not stop at the edge of hell but at the height of glory. Christ saved us so that we will suffer for the kingdom, work for the kingdom and rule with Him in the kingdom of God. Crist wants to lead you to victory over sin, over your enemies, over the obstacles you face in this life…so that you can reign with Him eternally.
Our challenge is to establish the kingdom of Christ where the ruler of the kingdom of the air has already established his throne. It would be a lot easier to occupy an empty throne. David would have had a much easier life if there was no king Saul. But God anointed David king WHILE there was already a king on the throne of Israel. David’s greatest challenge was to begin to establish the throne on which Christ will reign WHILE king Saul was in power. Is that not your challenge? God has anointed you and called you to be part of a royal priesthood WHILE the ruler of the kingdom of the air is still in power.
God’s promise is that if you are faithful to Him by refusing to submit to the ruler of the kingdom of the air, He will rule over your life, over your inheritance, and YOU will rule with Him!
