08/21/2024 – How much are you loved?

John 15: 9″As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

 

One of the most difficult conditions for any person is to feel unloved. All of us have gone through periods of loneliness, when we question the love of the people around us. During times of trials, we may have even wondered if we are loved by God.

Jesus made a revelation to His disciples that must become a source of joy and assurance for all of us. In the upper room, in the intimacy of the moments before the cross, our Lord told them the extent of His love. He assured them:

Do not allow your mind to skim this verse. Dive deeply with all your heart into the awesome greatness of this revelation. Consider the infinite, eternal love that our heavenly Father has for the Son of God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus is saying that He loves us, His disciples, with the same love. The same love. I must repeat it because this statement is breathtaking.
