07/15/2024 – Smarter than the World

Eddy De La Hoz   -

Luke 16: 8 “The master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light.

Faith produces holy ambition. I want to proclaim that there is a longing, a desire in the children of God for the promises of God. That we are not passively waiting but eagerly desiring, working, and fighting to see those promises fulfilled in us.

The Lord Jesus taught a parable about a dishonest manager who was clever enough to make the best of a bad situation.

When we were of the world, we could be shrewd. We are smart to do what is wrong…but faith gives us the knowledge and the desire to do what is right!

Do you want the promises of God for your life? How much do you want them? Jacob was crafty. He was clever. He developed a plan and waited for the right moment to trick his brother into selling him his right as the firstborn. He tricked his father into blessing him. When Jacob wanted something, he found a way to get it. He know that he had no birth right to the blessing of the firstborn. But that did not stop him! Jacob went after it anyway! In this challenge, God is saying to him: are you willing to fight as hard for what is right?
