10/14/2026 – The Amazing Power of Humility

Eddy De La Hoz   -

2 Chronicles 33: 9 So Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to do more evil than the nations whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Israel.10 And the Lord spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they would not listen. 11 Therefore the Lord brought upon them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh with hooks, bound him with bronze fetters, and carried him off to Babylon. 12 Now when he was in affliction, he implored the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, 13 and prayed to Him; and He received his entreaty, heard his supplication, and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord was God.

Reflection: King Manasseh provoked God to anger. He did everything to destroy himself, his family and his nation. He should have been cast out and condemned eternally. But when everything seemed lost, the Bible says that he implored the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.

Everything changed. There is a turning point in the life of this king and in his family and his nation. He did not need to make sacrifices to idols. He did not need a stronger army. What he needed was to humble himself before God! What you need is to humble yourself before the Lord your God! He exalts the ones who humble themselves before Him. He forgives rebellion. As horrendous as your sin may be, when you humble yourself and you pray, God listens! God restored this king! Oh, the power of humility!
