10/01/2026 – Our Heavenly Treasure

Eddy De La Hoz   -

Scripture: Matthew 6: 19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Reflection: What is your most precious treasure? We all have a system by which we assign value to everything- this includes people, material and spiritual blessings and situations. God has given treasures and talents to each of us according to our ability; but there is a treasure that He has promised to all of us equally, and it is the treasure of His glory. We are the temple of the living God! He made us so that He could dwell in us! The glory of God has infinite value. It is by far the most precious treasure we have been given. Not just that we can see and acknowledge His glory but that our lives can be fully governed by the glory of God! Fully enabled to glorify God!

When we treasure something, we protect it. When God revealed His glory to Moses, He did not take it back. He granted His people the blessing of His glory amid them! When the Lord brought His people out of Egypt, God provided a way for His people to enjoy His presence. He did not just give them the Law. He asked them to build a tabernacle so that He would abide with them. The first object they had to make was the ark of the Testimony. This treasure chest represented the throne of God. His presence is your greatest treasure.
