09/30/2026 – Heavenly Citizens
Scripture: Philippians 3: 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
Reflection: Our Lord Jesus has the power to subdue everything and everyone – every thought and action, every person and institution, every kingdom and power! Only His power can overcome evil and sin. He is determined to accomplish this for you. His goal is that you will be transformed to become like Him and to glorify God perfectly as He glorifies the Father perfectly!
By virtue of your natural birth, you were made part of a nation and a culture in this world. It is your right by birth. By virtue of your spiritual birth, you were made part of the heavenly nation. It is your birthright. You have all the rights and responsibilities of a citizen of heaven!
If you had a choice to be born in any nation on this earth, would you choose the one in which you were born? Our national identity is one of the strongest and most noble passions on this earth. God chose us to be a holy nation with an eternal inheritance in heaven.
