03/20/2026 – Seek the Glory of God!

Scripture: Mark 7: 35 Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly. 36 Then He commanded them that they should tell no one; but the more He commanded them, the more widely they proclaimed it. 37 And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”

Reflection: How do you respond to the works of Christ in your life? We can see in scripture the response from the people of God to the presence of Christ, and we can learn from them on the proper response. A direct interaction with Christ through faith brings healing. He demonstrated His power to restore you to your original design. The response from the people is also our response: He has done all things well! Hallelujah!

But the Lord did something that they could not understand. He told them to keep quiet. They disregarded that command. They concluded that there could not be any harm in telling everyone. Maybe they thought the Lord was being too shy. Disobedience never helps God and it never helps you! The Lord had trouble accomplishing the more important part of His ministry, preaching the gospel, because people were only seeking physical healing.

When we achieve something great, we want everyone to know. Social media has opened a torrent of boasting. Do not be a part of it. There are a time and a place and a way for everything to come to light. Christ said that He was not seeking glory for Himself (John 8:50). He wanted His Father to be glorified. How could we do anything seeking our own glory? In everything you do, seek the glory of God!

The works of God are amazing. That is evident to all. But what is also amazing is the way God accomplishes His works. He does everything the right way, always using the truth. There are easier ways. Injustice offers many shortcuts. There are many unjust lies that can get you what you want sooner and cheaper. But the way of God is the way of truth.

The redeemed will sing the Song of Moses in heaven, glorifying God for His marvelous works and for the way He has done them- in justice, truth and holiness.
