12/22/2025 – The One Thing You Need
Scripture: Isaiah 7: 10 Moreover the Lord spoke again to Ahaz, saying, 11 “Ask a sign for yourself from the Lord your God; ask it either in the depth or in the height above.” 12 But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, nor will I test the Lord!”
Reflection: If you could ask the Lord your God for only one thing, what would it be? Of course you can ask God for everything, and you should. But it would be very telling to find out which is the most important desire of your heart. Our Lord Jesus told Martha in Luke 10: 41 “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed”. I invite you to substitute your name and receive this word today.
There is only one sign, one supernatural work of God that can bring fullness of peace and joy: the kingdom of Christ in your life! He is the one you must desire most! Not just the help of Christ for our needs, but the kingdom of Christ for His glory
Is Christ the strongest desire of your heart? Is His kingdom, His Lordship the most important goal in your life? There is only one wish, one hope, one prayer that brings salvation: No wonder this is the first request in the Lord’s prayer. King Ahaz missed his opportunity, but you should take it. Pray for the kingdom of Christ in your life.
