06/12/2025 – God’s Sentence of Life
Scripture: Exodus 1: 22 So Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, “Every son who is born you shall cast into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive.”
Reflection: Moses was born with a death sentence already signed against him. There was a royal decree by the most “powerful” man on earth at that time. There was an empire willing to carry out that decree. There were forces of evil fighting in the heavenly realms to exterminate the people of God, to take away their joy and to establish an empire of human greed and human wisdom and strength.
Moses was born to a family of slaves. He was born into a people who had been overpowered and forced to give their lives, their energy to the Egyptian empire. His family had no resources, no influence in terms of human authority. But they had the essential ingredient for victory: the grace of God!
Against all human odds, once again the grace of God will triumph to overturn the sentence of death over this baby and over the people of God, and to manifest His power to save! God has pronounced you righteous, and He has awarded you the inheritance of the children of God. And God would use people to execute a sentence of life against the sentence of death.
