04/15/2025 – Convinced to Serve
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3: 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Reflection: It is not enough to learn something about God. Your faith must be purified and reach the level of full assurance. Only then will you become wise, complete and equipped for every good work!
There are different levels of faith. The Bible tells us about dead faith. That is the faith that stays as intellectual knowledge but produces no works. That faith does not lead to righteousness. We also find weak faith. Those of weak faith want to add to their salvation through their works. They keep adding conditions to the salvation that Christ already fulfilled.
The Bible also mentions incomplete faith. The apostle Paul prays that the Thessalonians may receive what is lacking from their faith. But God is leading us to the full assurance of faith so that we can be equipped for every good work.
But God wants to lead you to the faith that pleases Him and equips you for service: full assurance of faith.
