12/26/2024 – The Word of God is Your Guide to Christ
Matthew 2: 9 When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

The wise men were ultimately guided to Bethlehem by the word of God. It was only after the prophecy from Micah was read that they went there. The visual experience of the star was an awesome sign that pointed to Christ, the living word of God. What led them to Jesus was the word of God, and it will guide us also.
Even Cesar Augustus proclaimed a command in line with the word of God, although he never intended to do so. The prophecy was clear. The promise had been given. God led Joseph and Mary to the place they needed to be. God is guiding you to the place you need to be.
We must not be satisfied with anything else or anyone else. We must continue this challenging path until we arrive at the feet of our Lord Jesus, until we fall down and worship Him in Spirit and in truth. The wise men presented their gifts and fulfilled their purpose. They represented all the gentiles who would come to salvation guided by the good news that the Word became flesh and dwelled among us. May the Word of God and the Light of Christ continue to guide you and yours always.
