12/13/2024 – God Wants to Establish You
Joshua 1: After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: 2 “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. 5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall [a]divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

Some of the greatest miracles in history are in the book of Joshua. The walls of Jericho fell! The solar system stopped! But what I consider the greatest miracle in this book is that despite their rebellion and all their failures, God introduced His people into the promised land and established them there.
There is a place of blessing for you. There is a place of blessing for the people of God. This is the place where God wants to establish you. It is primarily a spiritual place. That is where you are to settle, to become rooted. That is the place you will produce fruit. Your promised land is the land where Jesus reigns- the land that only He can conquer.
1 Peter 5: 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
God is merciful and powerful not just to take you out of Egypt, but to get you to the promised land and to establish you there!
We go through many changes in this life. And God is using all those changes, all the challenges and processes to lead us to a place where we can be planted. The person who is blessed by God, according to Psalms 1, is like a tree planted by the streams of water. We must be rooted firmly in the word of God to produce fruit. We need to settle down in the will of God, in our calling, our ministry.
In the Old Testament this place is represented by the promised land. Israel enjoyed the presence of God, the protection of God wherever they went- even in the desert. But God was leading them to the place He had chosen. God has a place for you in this life- and He is leading you there.
