11/04/2024 – Celebrate God’s Victory!
Exodus 15: Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spoke, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. 2 The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

The book of Psalms is not the only place in the Bible we find singing. The first song in the Bible is the song of Moses. The principal expression of joy is celebration. We must celebrate God’s victory. We tend to dwell on the negative, on the pain, and we often forget to celebrate God’s victory.
When the people of God crossed the Red Sea, they could not just keep on walking as if nothing had happened. Often, we pray and fast for a specific request, and once God gives us victory, we simply sigh in relief, say: “Thank you, God” and just keep going.
The Holy Spirit filled Moses and Miriam, and they led the people of God to celebrate. God gave them a song that would memorialize His victory for all generations. Even in heaven all the redeemed will sing the song of Moses:
Revelation 15: 3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints
The Holy Spirit reveals that our God is the reason for our joy and celebration. He is the source of all good in our lives. Whenever we rejoice and celebrate, there is only one reason: our God!
