09/09/2024 – Your Most Important Relationship
John 14: 19 “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
The most important relationship every person must maintain in this life is a relationship with Christ. That relationship is the key to all others. If you have a good relationship with Christ, you will have a godly relationship with your family and friends, your neighbors and even those who do not like you. Most importantly, you will have a good relationship with your Father in heaven! No longer enmity, but peace with God! Christ is the foundation for every godly relationship of humankind.
The Lord Jesus told His disciples that He was going away as far as anyone possibly could. He was going somewhere they could not follow. He would dwell in the inaccessible light of the Father – yet nothing can separate them from Him- in fact, He promised that their relationship would be stronger!
The good news is that Christ wants a relationship with you! He took upon Himself human nature so that He could relate to you. He suffered everything you could ever suffer…He experienced life in the world physically and emotionally. He took your sin to make you clean. He conquered the world so that you would desire a relationship with Him. And once you establish a relationship with Christ, God promises that nothing can separate you from Him. You can have a relationship with Him that is stronger than most people had when He walked the streets of Jerusalem! And your relationship with Christ can continue to grow for all eternity.
