09/05/2024 – The Grace of God Overcomes our Pain
Genesis 3: 16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Faith believes that God’s grace will turn the curse into blessing and pain into joy. When Mary gave birth to our Lord Jesus, the grace of God was manifested to the world through the sorrow that God established for the woman.
Christ redeems us in our pain. Eve had rightfully received judgment from God because of her sin, and that judgment affected every woman to this day; but the promise was of a redeemer who would be born of the woman. How great in mercy is our God! Along with judgment, He immediately offers redemption! There is much suffering that comes with being a woman- not only the physical pain of childbirth, but the emotional pain and sacrifice of raising a child, who in many cases never fully appreciates her sacrifice. But Christ came to redeem us from our spiritual pain! He turned her sorrow into supreme joy! Christ has come to redeem you from your sorrow and to lift you up from the place you fell!
