09/04/2024 – Who Decides a Childs Future?

Eddy De La Hoz   -

Luke 1: 15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb.

The gravest mistake a parent can make is to leave it up to the child to choose whatever they want to be when they get older. I have heard this reasoning and it scares me. Some parents say: I will let her decide when she is old enough if she wants to believe in God or not. She can choose later who she wants to be.
But God said of John the Baptist: He shall be great in the sight of the Lord. And God gave specific instructions to his parents to guide their son in that direction.

Parents have a precious opportunity to train their children in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6) What our children need is the earliest possible intervention from God. John was chosen by God. There was a word from God on his life. God promised him the filing of the Spirit from the womb!

Few people achieve greatness in this world, though every person dreams of it. But every child can be great in the eyes of God. And that is all that matters. John the Baptist would not achieve greatness by human standards. His life and ministry would be humble. But our Lord Jesus said that no greater man had been born up to that point. God has prepared a future of greatness for all who believe and obey His word.
