Luke 1: 39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda; 40 And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. 41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: 42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. 43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

One of the most difficult truths for anyone to understand is the fact that Jesus is Lord. One day everyone will confess it. One day everyone will bow down before Him. But for most it will be too late. Even for those who were called by Him and witnessed His miracles, it took a long time before they recognized Christ as Lord.
Elisabeth was the first person in the New Testament to call Jesus “My Lord” and to worship Him as God. She worshiped Him before He was even born! Before He did anything for her, she praised God in Faith. How amazing when we can trust God to the point that we can praise Him for what He will do!
Mary went to visit Elisabeth. Zacharias was still not able to speak. He was a priest, trained in the word of God. Yet doubt made him silent. God’s expectation, God’s demand is that we believe. How dare we doubt the word of God? A person who believes the word of God is blessed regardless of title or status in society.
If no one does, be the first in your family to call Jesus Lord. Mother, you have a great opportunity to start a lineage of faith in your family! An inheritance of faith that can be passed on from generation to generation!
