08/29/2024 – God’s Work Cannot be Stopped
Acts 5: 38 And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing; 39 but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it—lest you even be found to fight against God.”
When our Lord Jesus died on the cross, everyone became convinced that His ministry was over. Even His disciples wept thinking of what might have been. It seemed that the power of evil had overcome the purpose of God. But what is of God cannot be destroyed.
One of the most evident differences between what is of God and what comes from people is that the works of God are indestructible. They never end. They increase continually. Gamaliel, the greatest teacher of the law at the time, recognized this. The religious leaders were trying to find a way to stop the gospel of Christ. He told them to leave the disciples alone. He knew that when God initiates an action, He will continue in that action until His purpose is fulfilled. In fact, the more that evil increases, the more the power of God manifests against it!
No one can stop the Spirit of God. No obstacle can interrupt Him! He never takes a pause or deviates from His purpose!
Are you doing God’s work? Everything else will end one day, but God’s work will continue to perfection. We can do God’s work with confidence that God will ensure its success.
