08/06/2024 – Every Godly Relationship is Based on a Covenant

Eddy De La Hoz   -

Malachi 2: 13 And this is the second thing you do: You cover the altar of the Lord with tears, With weeping and crying; So He does not regard the offering anymore, Nor receive it with goodwill from your hands.14 Yet you say, “For what reason?” Because the Lord has been witness Between you and the wife of your youth, With whom you have dealt treacherously; Yet she is your companion And your wife by covenant.

God cares about every aspect of our lives. But perhaps his greatest concern is for our relationships. God cares supremely that you relate appropriately to every person in your life. God provides instructions on how we must relate to each other. The way we treat each other is how we demonstrate love.

Children- obey your parents. We demonstrate love to parents through obedience.
Brothers – live in harmony. We demonstrate love to one another through unity.
Husbands and wives – submit to one another. This is how we demonstrate love in marriage.
How do you relate to your employer? To your neighbor? To your enemy?

God warns us that if we pray fervently and give offerings, but we disregard our relationships, we pray and give in vain. Every relationship stems from a covenant of love. Contracts are transactional, but covenants are made in love. God has always related to people through covenants. He expects us to honor the covenants He has established- marriage, family, friendship, brotherly love.
I invite you today to upgrade your thinking regarding every godly relationship in your life. Think of it as a covenant before God.
