07/03/2024 – A season of waiting
A season of waiting must be one of the most unpleasant processes we all experience in life. What I mean is that, if we are not careful during those seasons of waiting, we can be subject to anxiety, unrealistic conclusions, our minds race towards the absolute absurd. Example, having to wait for news, or a response on something that is very important to you, while you’re waiting, your mind is racing, you are stressed, your fearful and anxious. Dealing with “the act of waiting” without God exposes us even more towards these feelings. However, God’s word cuts straight to the heart on how we should approach a season of waiting. Here is just some of what the bible says about waiting:
Lamentations 3:25 “The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.”
Isaiah 40:31 “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
Psalm 37:7 “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!”
If you’re in a season of “waiting”, do not do it alone, ask God to help you, in your own strength you will eventually be beaten down. Keep your gaze on God, shift your focus from you to God, transfer the burden of “waiting” and place it in God’s hands. Remember, God is in control, and He has never lost control, nor has He forgotten your situation. His word promises:
- To be good for those wait on Him.
- To renew your strength when you wait on Him.
- To wait on Him quietly and patiently.
Today meditate on this verse: Psalm 130:5
“I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.”
