12/13/2023 – The Lord Himself will Give you a Sign

Eddy De La Hoz   -

Isaiah 7: 10 Moreover the Lord spoke again to Ahaz, saying, 11 “Ask a sign for yourself from the Lord your God; ask it either in the depth or in the height above.” 12 But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, nor will I test the Lord!” 13 Then he said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Do you see this evidence in your life? If you do not, ask the Lord for it. Do not be satisfied with the seed only- seek the growth and the fruit! The Lord prompts Ahab to ask for a sign, for the manifestation of the power of God in His life. God does not want you to remain in doubt. He wants to convince you! He should not have to demonstrate His power to you, His love any more than He already has by sending His son to die on the cross and rise from the dead… but He was willing to let Thomas place his finger in His wounds so that Thomas would believe. He is willing to bring you to full conviction of the truth!

The northern tribes had joined forces with Assyria to attack the kingdom of Judah. This was a worst-case scenario. The throne of David was in danger of falling into the hands of Assyria. But God would not allow it- even if Ahaz had failed Him. Ahaz was one of the worst kings Judah ever had. He sacrificed his children to idols. Yet the Lord sends prophet Isaiah to Him with a promise of victory. God is always faithful to His promises!

A similar alliance has taken place in our lives. Our sinful nature allies with the world to try to destroy our spirit. Our only hope is our Lord Jesus Christ who was born without sin and lived a holy life so He could die in our place.
The prophecy that changed the world was given to one of the worst kings in Judah and one of the worst people on earth during one of the most difficult times: the virgin will conceive… and will give birth to a child who will give us salvation from our enemies and, instead of an alliance with the world, will bring us back in communion with God. That child was born in a manger, conquered death on a cross and ascended to heaven. He is our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
