12/04/2023 – The Highest Altar is the Throne of God

Eddy De La Hoz   -

Hebrews 4: 14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

The third altar in the Tabernacle was the most sacred altar: the throne of God. The purpose of salvation is to bring our lives into submission to sovereignty, the righteousness, and the love of God!

This altar was represented by the Ark of the Covenant, located in the Holy of Holies. If the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies without this incense from the Altar of Prayer, he would die. This incense provided the cover the priest needed from the justice of God, because the priest was still a sinner.

The Ark of the Covenant represented the altar where God reigns. There must be an altar in your heart, in your home where God reigns. Here is the place where Christ dwells. Our Lord did not stay on the cross or the tomb. He had to go to the throne. Jesus ascended to heaven in his divine and human natures. He sat at the right hand of the Father to receive honor and glory. He will come back to claim the throne of the King of Kings over the nations of this world.

This altar is the throne of grace. No one could go near it… except the high priest, and only once a year. This is the place where God wants to lead you. We are commanded to approach the throne of God with confidence because the blood of Christ has covered our sin.
