12/27/2023 -The Service God Deserves

Eddy De La Hoz   -

Revelation 5: 11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”

In any relationship to give anyone anything less than they deserve is an injustice. Basic righteousness is, at a minimum, to pay everyone their due.

We have an exaggerated sense of what is owed to us; but we have a distorted idea of what others deserve. We think we deserve more than we do. To make matters worse, we think others deserve less than they do. So God has to demand that we, at the very least, pay everyone their due. Your parents, your family members, your friends, your teachers, your boss, your government. Because of their authority over you, given by God, and because of what they have done for you, they are deserving of a specific amount of your love, respect, and honor.

What about God? And more specifically…what about Christ? Given all He has done for you, what does He deserve from you? We may have different ideas and opinions regarding how much of our time and service we should give to Christ. So, we need the Bible to settle it.

Christ is revealed as the one who is SUPREMELY WORTHY. He is worthy of your best! This is the foundational attribute of the worship and the service that we are to give Christ eternally- the He is deserving! This means that anything, everything we do for Him is simply doing what must be done, what is due to Him! None of it is done because we are nice, or religious. Nothing is more righteous than the worship and service of Christ.
