Special Thanksgiving Message

Eddy De La Hoz   -

Have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Psalms 65: 11 You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance.

12 They drop on the pastures of the wilderness, And the little hills rejoice on every side.

13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; The valleys also are covered with grain; They shout for joy, they also sing.

Every year there is a harvest. The earth produces all the food we require for life: grain, fruits and vegetables in all the flavors we love and the colors we admire. This harvest is like a crown that God bestows on the sweaty and tired foreheads of all who worked the ground and planted seeds. It is the joyful  fruit of their labors.

Every year there is also a spiritual harvest. The word of God is like a seed that produces in us the fruit of the Holy Spirit. The work of Christ: His ministry, His death on the cross, His resurrection and His ascension to the throne of the Father, produces a new harvest every year. Millions are saved, there is healing, lives are restored.

On this day of thanksgiving in the year of the Lord 2022, we give thanks to God for the bountiful harvest that crowns this year. His power has overcome some of the greatest challenges the world has ever faced: a lingering pandemic, war, and a worsening spiritual and material condition. Yet, there is a great harvest. God crowns the year 2022 with His salvation and His victory. We see it in our lives, in our homes and in our church.

We thank God for His grace manifested in our lives. For each servant of God who planted faithfully, who did something for the kingdom of God this year. You who preached, taught and encouraged; you who cooked and served and cleaned; you who greeted and drove and carried things; you who organized, decorated, rehearsed and participated in worship. You who fed the hungry and clothed the needy. You did so many things for God and others. May our God place the crown of a bountiful harvest on your tired forehead, and may we rejoice and worship our great God.

With love and gratitude,

Your pastors.
