01/18/2022 – God’s Character Part # 1

James Vazquez   -

For the next three days, I would like to share some basics on God’s character, we so easily forget. For day one lets focus on “The Lord is good”, on day two let’s look at “His lovingkindness is everlasting”, and finally on day three is “His is faithful”. It so easy to lose our center, in our walk with God, as the cares of this world throws every kind of distraction, with only one goal, to sideline us. If you are currently off centered, struggling in your faith, lets return to the basics.

Day 1: The Lord is Good

Psalm 100:5 – “For the Lord is good…” King David starts verse 5 reminding us of God’s character, that the one and only sovereign creator of the universe is a “Good God”. The term in Hebrew used is, tōv, which means “pleasant, agreeable, delightful, good.” How different from the present-day concept many people have of God. God is not an irritated tyrant pacing the floors of heaven looking for reasons to smash our lives or squelch our happiness—like some celestial bully with a club in His hand. No! He is good. And His commands are for our good. Love motivates His every word and deed.

Today, fall in love with God once again:

Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.
