12/13/2021 – My Truck
I’ve owned my truck for 11+ years now, my truck has helped me through many fatherly chores and duties, it has helped me during college move-in days for my children, road trips vacations to Florida. I also remember when my truck was brand new, straight out of the dealer’s showroom, that new car smell, that clean interior and shiny exterior. I remember glimpsing thru the owner’s manual, here is a small excerpt from the introduction:
“Congratulations on selecting your new vehicle. Be assured that it represents precision workmanship, distinctive styling, and high quality – all essentials that are traditional to our vehicles. This Owner’s Manual has been prepared with the assistance of service and engineering specialists to acquaint you with the operation and maintenance of your vehicle.”
Basically, the owner’s manual essentially says, if you properly operate and keep a regular maintenance schedule, you will enjoy this vehicle for many years to come. Everything I need to know about the care of my truck can be found in the owner’s manual. In turn, God’s word is the ultimate owner’s manual for our lives. We find how to properly operate our lives, how to maintain a regular maintenance schedule in our walk with God, and everything we need to know about “how to care for our lives” are found in God’s owner’s manual. Are you reading God’s owner’s manual to your life? Are you keeping a regular maintenance schedule in your walk with God? As you prepare for the new year, make God’s owner’s manual a part of your daily maintenance schedule.
Today meditate on this verse:
Psalms 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
